Applications, admissions and tuition fees

In the academic year 2021/2022 we are opening the field of Preschool and Extracurricular Pedagogy for full-time and part-time study (75-31-N / 03).

For the admission procedure we cordially invite all the candidates who:

  • have completed secondary education – the Maturita exam is required for entry into studies, not for participation in entrance exams
  • duly completed and submitted an electronic or printed application form for study at the St. John’s College
  • are in good health, confirmed by a doctor on a paper application for study

Application for study

The fee for the admission procedure is CZK 400 and is paid in advance by transfer to account No. 3683708369/0800 (as a variable symbol, please state the first 6 digits of your birth number – the one before the slash, or the identification number assigned to you by our information system application – it is a 9-digit number starting with 10 …….).

All parts of the entrance examination will take place within one day, to which the candidate is invited in writing by e-mail on the basis of a completely completed application and the fee paid. Upon registration, the applicant shall submit a medical certificate and proof of completed secondary education. If the applicant is already employed, he / she can submit a study recommendation from his / her employer.

Through this admission we would like to find out as much as possible about you and to be able to suggest the ideal procedure for your study as effectively as possible – selection of optional and optional subjects, choice of language, etc.

The full admission procedure applies only to applicants for combined study. Applicants for full-time study can only be accepted on the basis of an oral interview.

The admission procedure includes

  • an oral interview in which we find out the motivation of the student to study, the prerequisites for the field, a general view and the relationship to spiritual values ​​- in full-time study.
  • a written part consisting of a test of study prerequisites and elementary knowledge of a foreign language (English or German) – only for combined study, applicants for full-time study are mostly recent graduates, for whom this knowledge has been verified by a state Maturita exam.
  • Applicants for combined study who work in the field will also receive points for study recommendations from their employer.

The results of the admission procedure will be posted on our website. The point evaluation of individual parts of the admission procedure will be made available in the ISVOŠ information system. At the same time, applicants can study the file related to the admission procedure, at the school secretariat during office hours.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the St. John’s College have the opportunity to continue their studies in the bachelor’s study programme “Leisure Time Pedagogy” at the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (TFJU). Thanks to an agreement between the St. John’s College and the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia, students can collect up to 116 ECTS-compliant credits while studying at the St. John’s College, and transfer these credits to study at the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia. Skillful students can thus achieve a bachelor’s degree a year after graduating from St. John’s College.

The graduate will have several job options to choose from:

  • Independent kindergarten teacher – teacher in facilities for preschool children (state, private, church, with an alternative program, with the integration of children with special needs, etc.)
  • Independent leisure pedagogue – educator in a school group, school club or other out-of-school facility; hobby teacher in children’s and youth homes, play centres and leisure centres; hobby animator
  • The graduate can continue his studies at TF JU

The graduate is able to comprehensively ensure or manage educational and coordination activities in the use of leisure time of children and youth. As a pedagogical worker, he/she will also be able find employment in information and environmental centres, can manage community associations or maternity centres, and can work within church parishes in the pastoral care of families with children.

The admission procedure takes place in the college building in teh village of Svatý Jan pod Skalou 1.
